Introduction to Te Aitarakihi
Te Aitarakihi Society Incorporated (“Te Aitarakihi”) works as the governing body for Te Aitarakihi Marae-a-Iwi (Multicultural Centre) at 50 Bridge Road, Smithfield, Timaru.
The Centre operates through a Māori lens by upholding Māori values and using Māori protocols and has the vision to uplift, promote and advocate within te ao Māori. To achieve this, the Te Aitarakihi continues to break down social barriers by creating a greater understanding of te ao Māori. We know that this comes in the form of education and exposure in a safe environment for both our whānau and the wider community.
