Information on the Whanau Mahi - 'work readiness' Program
Kia ora e te whanau! Nau mai, haere mai ki Whānau Mahi – Te Aitarakihi’s Work Readiness Programme for all whānau!
Whānau Mahi is a FREE kaupapa Māori, whenua-based employment and training programme:
Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 3.00pm
12-week duration, for whānau of all cultures and nationalities, who are:
Transport to and from the programme as well as lunch, is provided every day!
Tauira (students) should expect to be involved in various stages of our projects during their time on the programme.
It could involve planting, maintenance, preparation and more.
Successfully completing Whānau Mahi leads to:
Whānau Mahi is about working as a team and celebrating each other’s successes.
Te Aitarakihi continue to support employed whānau for as long as required after the programme finishes.

- A registered job seeker with full time work obligations
- OR a registered job seeker with a medical certificate
- OR not in employment, education, or training (NEET) with an exemption
